My name is Pabasari Nawaratne and I'm 22 years old. I am currently living in Kegalle and waiting to move to colombo for my higher studies in the near future. As a school girl, I went to St Joseph's Balika Maha Vidyalaya for both primary and secondary studies. After doing my Al's ,

my only and the biggest hope was to enter the University of the Visual and Performing Arts as a student and study music. Finally I was lucky enough to select to the university I wished for and I am now a proud student of the University of the Visual and Performing Arts.   Java batik technique  Java batik technique is an another way of batik. It's a very colourful one of batik Industry. There are some main ingredients to create a java batik dress. First,you have to have some dyes. Mainly we use a dye "procion dye"  for java. At next batik artists mix that dye with same chemicals called sodium silicate, soda ash and salt. The dye mixture is painted on the fabric according to the desired pattern with the help of a brush. After painting the design the keep it to dry in the sun for about two days. After that finally they outline all the design and boil it  with boiling water to finish the fabric.
